al fresco® Arugula, Caramelized Onion, and Roasted Pepper & Asiago Pizza
Ingredients
1 12 oz. package al fresco® Roasted Pepper & Asiago Chicken Sausage
1 12" Boboli® 100% Whole Wheat Pizza Crust
1 c. Boboli® pizza sauce
1 c. Mozzarella, low-sodium, shredded
2 oz. Parmesan cheese, thinly sliced into shavings
4 oz. fresh arugula
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 1/2 c. onion, thinly sliced
Freshly cracked black pepper
Directions
Preheat oven to 450° F.
Cook time 8 - 10 minutes
Coat medium non-stick skillet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, brown onions over medium high heat for 5 minutes. Reduce heat and cook an additional 10 minutes until nicely caramelized. Remove from pan; set aside.
Spread Boboli® pizza sauce over Boboli® pizza crust, sprinkle with mozzarella and caramelized onions and arrange sausage slices on top of onions.
Bake pizza for 8 - 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove from oven and sprinkle with arugula, Parmesan cheese and remaining olive oil.
Top with freshly cracked black pepper.
Alternate Methods
For 8" pizza crust, use 2/3 ingredients.
